2025 VERMENTINO

Vermentino is a white wine grape variety we have selected due to its natural affinity for warmer climates.

The fruit was sourced from Chittering, in the northern end of Perth Hills wine region. The vineyard sits within the Darling scarp at approximately 300m above sea level, beside a creek bed. It is on very light  and well drained alluvial sands, soils ideal for the production of aromatic and elegant dry whites.

Hand harvested in the early morning before chilling overnight, the fruit was gently crushed and pressed before fermentation in stainless steel tank. The inert stainless steel surface is ideal to focus fruit freshness and vibrancy. Combined with a long slow, cold ferment the resulting wine is allowed to champion the crisp, saline and elegant natural fruit flavours of the variety.

Lifted aromatics of lemon rind, citrus and grapefruit. The palate has a crisp saline character supported by flavours of citrus, pear and green apple. Refreshing, elegant and energised drinking.

This is another example where the winemaking has been designed to preserve and retain those vibrant, pure fruit characters, with apple and pear, slightly lemony zip. Its a fine, delicate style of wine, but deceptively builds flavour through to a long finish. Excellent example of the variety.”
