Our philosophy at Myattsfield has always been about blending; about trying to build or create the best wine possible. This wine is an excellent example of just that.
Using the unique, traditional southern French technique of co-fermentation, we try to achieve a complex layering of the palate.
Shiraz and Touriga were harvested from our Carmel vineyard and co-fermented. After a period of maturation, blending trials resulted in the addition of some Durif for further colour and structure. The result is a wine containing 69% Shiraz, 23% Touriga and 8% Durif. Together they make a rich, round wine full f dark fruit flavour with great structure and length. Very approachable now or cellar with confidence.
